I WAS GIVEN SOME OF THE BEST SUNLIGHT AT THIS ELOPEMENT – THE BEST I HAVE YET TO SEE AS A DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER.
We began our journey on North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Parkway, and if you have yet to venture out on this road it is a must. It mile after mile, curve after curve of driving on top of and through the Appalachian Mountains.
These two picked quite a beauty for their elopement together. JUST WAIT.
Emi & Andrew have known each other since they were in their childhood and knew it was time to finally join together. These two compliment each other SO well and time around them is always such a blessing. I have photographed them a few times now and every time it gets better and better.
We began our little adventure at Black Balsam Knob – a hiking spot on the Parkway. It was overcast – the sun wanted to peek through, but it could never find it’s courage. Instead we were given moody, dramatic lighting which I was all the more happy to play in!
We frolicked in the mountain wind; I loved watching it flow through Emi’s hair – dancing and sway just as these two did as they celebrated their journey together.
Then the sun finally unveiled it’s might. Rays bursted down from the clouds to the mountains – the world took on a golden glow. We were in awe over God and how He was painting right before our eyes.
As you can tell, it kept getting more and more beautiful – the most beautiful I have yet to see at this location. (And I have been here quite a few times now!)
I am so grateful to my couples that follow their adventurous hearts – those that break tradition to intentionally start the journey into marriage in ways that represent who they are individually and together as a couple. I love brides that aren’t afraid to get their dress dirty – that go barefoot in the mountain terrain. Grooms that hold their lady’s dress and get lost in time together.
THAT is how a wedding should be. THAT is the foundation of what love is built on.
