I had been looking forward to Jenn & Jarrod’s wedding all year, and it absolutely was one of the most remarkable day – one of my favorite in my 10 year career!

Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, it’s the perfect blend of rustic charm and natural beauty. The best part? It’s only a short drive from Asheville! That means guests can easily enjoy the best of both worlds: the peaceful setting of Barnardsville and all the fun Asheville has to offer, from its amazing food scene to quirky shops and art galleries.

One of the things I loved most about this wedding at Whiskey Rock was how intentional and heartfelt every detail was. Jenn wrote a handwritten letter to EACH guest, thanking them personally. It was such a touching gesture and made everyone feel incredibly special. I can’t tell you how much it meant to the guests, and I loved capturing those moments of connection! Weddings are usually fast paced and quick – so this was a refreshing “slow down” to be present and intentional with loved ones and friends.
During the ceremony, the couple took things up a notch by creating their own honey-mead shot for everyone to take. It was their way of sharing a sweet, symbolic toast with their guests, and it felt so personal and unique! Every guest joined in, raising their glasses and celebrating this new chapter for the couple.
Another beautiful moment was their sand ceremony. Instead of using just any sand, the Jarrod brought sand from the shores of Maryland, where he grew up, and Jenn brought sand from the beaches of California, representing her roots. As they poured the sand together, it was a powerful symbol of merging their pasts and their futures into one. Little details like this really make a wedding feel personal, and it was such an honor to capture those memories!
